Ajarn
Thoon Khippapanyo was born on Monday, May 20th 1935 in
Mahasarakarm province, northeastern Thailand. He grew up in a
farming family. He was a novice monk for a year at age eleven. At
age twenty, in line with Thai custom, he became a monk at a village
monastery for a year. At age twenty seven, he was reordained as a
Buddhist monk on July 27, 1961 with Phra Thammajedi, in Udornthani
province, northeastern Thailand.
At
present, Ajarn Thoon is the Abbot of Wat Pah Ban Khor, Udornthani, Thailand.
Wat Pah Ban Khor has recently celebrated The
Great Pagoda on January 29, 2001.
